Two decades has now lapsed since the state of Oromia is guaranteed a privilege during the proclamation of establishing the constitution was ratified.

Still we have One common unanswered question to all oromos :

Why the Ethiopia’s Federal Government has failed to write a legislation that would materialize the Oromia Regional State’s right over the capital Finfinne ?

This unresolved problem of article 49 of the Ethiopian constitution has brought multiple social, economic and political problems the whole oromos in general and to oromos around Finfinne in particular.

The article which says “The special interest of the State of Oromia in Addis Ababa, regarding the provision of social services or the utilization of natural resources and other similar matters, as well as joint administrative matters arising from the location of Addis Ababa within the State of Oromia, shall be respected, ”
When does this special interest right put in practice ???

Lets put the big issue for latter and see whats is happening now.

A simple walk around Addis in areas like Lebu , Gerji, kotebe, Bole bulbula, Meri …..etc vividly shows the social grievance of oromos by their own birth place. Due to the illegal rapid expansion of Finfine/Addis, these people have lost their land, property and not at least their identity. Children of these area can neither attend school in nearby area due to the Amharic language barrier nor can they easily secure job due to the same problem. Where is the proclamation for provision of social services ? Where are we heading guys ?

Isn’t it the 21 centure systematic colonization ?
